Dealing with sensitive divorce and family law matters is almost always an extremely difficult and emotional process. Choices made now can affect your life long after your divorce is final. It is important to seek the assistance of a lawyer who is knowledgeable in the law, compassionate with your situation and aggressive in protecting your rights.

For more than twenty five years, I have helped hundreds of people successfully resolve their family law problems by working hard to represent their interests.

I have extensive experience handling complex divorce and family court matters, including:

·     Divorce

·     Spousal and child support

·     Child custody and visitation

·     Division of marital property

·     Adoption

·     Paternity

·     Prenuptial Agreements

·     Domestic Violence

It is my goal to work as efficiently and effectively as possible, while ensuring that my clients’ best interests are protected. Let’s face it; lawyers are expensive, and I do my best to keep the cost of services as low as possible without compromising the quality of your representation.

Most important, I provide my clients with the attention they deserve. I offer responsive, cost-effective professional representation. Please feel free to contact me 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

What is divorce mediation?

A divorcing couple works together with attorney Richards Leeds to resolve all of the issues involved in their divorce, including division of assets, allocation of debts, child and/or spousal support, and parenting arrangements for the minor children. It is important to note that Mr. Leeds does not represent either of the parties in mediation, but works with both parties to try to resolve the case in a timely and cost effective manner.

How does mediation differ from court based divorce?

In mediation, divorcing couples do not surrender control to an attorney or judge. Rather, mediation takes place in a safe, collaborative environment, and is significantly less stressful than an adversarial, win-lose court based proceeding.

What if we already agree on a number of issues?

These agreements often serve as a basis for resolving the remaining issues in a divorce proceeding. The more that the divorcing couple is able to agree on, the more likely it is that the cost and stress of the divorcing process will be greatly reduced.

What if I want to consult with an independent attorney?

At any stage of mediation and/or before signing the final settlement agreement, Mr. Leeds may recommend that you consult privately with an independent attorney of your own choosing. However, you may determine that meeting with an independent attorney is not necessary if you are satisfied with the results during mediation.
